Bally Chohan says that after IPL T20 now the Pakistani cricket has faced another snub. IPL governing committee did not picked Pakistan’s domestic T20 champions Sialkot Stallion for T20 Champions League to be held at South Africa later this year. The names of ten participating teams were announced yesterday. This is the second edition of T20 Champions league and last time around also the no Pakistani team was picked for Champions League.
T20 Champions League is slated to be held from 10th September to 26th September 2010. The total prize money involved is USD 2.5 millions. Teams from India, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and New Zealand will participate in this edition of the tournament. Two teams from England has opted out because of change in the tournament dates.
Bally Chohan has come to know that Ijaz Butt, Chairman Pakistan cricket Board has expressed shock at this decision of Champions League T20 governing body. He told media persons that he was hoping to get an invitation for Sialkot Stallions and is really disappointed. He is planning to complain in the next ICC general Body meeting.
Sialkot Stallions were also the winner during 2008 but could not make it to the Champions League in Mumbai due to Mumbai terror attacks. However this time around they were confident of making it to the list.
Ijaz Butt while speaking to media persons earlier has confirmed that Sialkot Stallions is ready to participate in this edition of T20 Champions League. Butt informed media persons that he is ready to send full strength side for Champion League although the dates were clashing with Pakistan’s tour of England.
Bally Chohan says that earlier this year thing were looking really bright for Pakistan cricketers as they were granted visas to play in IPL however were not selected by team owners. Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ijaz Butt failed to understand the reason behind ignoring his team in spite of the fact that the tournament is being held outside India.
