Bally Chohan movie review – Robin Hood

June 12th, 2010

Bally Chohan has always been fascinated by the character of Robin Hood. Now when there comes a movie on Robin Hood directed by Scott, Bally Chohan made sure to watch the same. However, Bally Chohan came back unimpressed after watching the movie.

Bally Chohan feels that the movie Robin Hood is much more complicated and very slow. Robin Hood is considered to be one of favorite legendry heroes of all time. Robin Hood is considered to be a story of an outlawed archer who used to rob rich and give it to poor. However the director Scot narrates the same interesting story like a very long and boring history lesson. The story revolves around 12th Century England when an archer named Robin Longstride went on to become outlawed robber from a soldier in the army of King Richard the Lionheart.

Bally Chohan is tremendous fan of Russel Crow who played role of Robin Hood in this movie. Russel Crow while portraying role of Robin Hood in this movie remained grim faced and mumbled. Cate Blanchett has played role of love interest of Robin Hood in this movie. Lady Marion is the name of character portrayed by Cate Blanchett in Robin Hood. Lady Marion is the widow of English knight killed by treacherous English officer.

Bally Chohan is very much impressed by some brilliant war scenes in the movie. The battle scenes in Robin Hood seem so real that they bring in the feeling of being real in them. Battle scenes in Robin Hood are very much unlike CGI created war scenes that audience have become used to see in the modern time cinemas.

In spite of very well filmed battle scene Bally Chohan missed a sense of swashbuckling fun in the film. Bally Chohan would like to rate the movie Robin Hood as Above Average and would like to advise its readers to watch Robin Hood only for the battle scenes.

Bally Chohan congratulate Dubai Metro on achieving 99% punctuality rate

May 9th, 2010

Bally Chohan would like to congratulate Dubai Metro on achieving more than 99 percent punctuality rate. This is the highest punctuality rate maintained by any driverless metro all over the world.

Mattar Al Tayer while addressing media persons informed them that Dubai metro has achieved more than 99% punctuality rate which in itself is a record for driver less train. This is even better than the North East line in Singapore and the Docklands Light rail in London. Dubai Metro was first started on 9th September 2009 and since than its punctuality time is over 99 percent.

Bally Chohan says that in a study conducted by RTA Dubai this was found that during first three months of operation Dubai Metro has successfully achieved a punctuality rate of 99.47 percent. Whereas during the same period North East Line in Singapore achieved punctuality rate of 95 percent and Docklands Light Rail achieved punctuality rate of 93.90 percent during the same period.

However Dubai Metro improved upon on its punctuality in the next three months. The punctuality rate for Dubai Metro in the next three months was 99.69 percent. Again this was more than the 97 percent of Singapore North East line and 96.38 percent of London’s Docklands Light Rail.

Bally Chohan feels that response to Dubai Metro is exceptional since it became operational in September 2009. More and more people have started using bus and rail transport system in Dubai. On an average about 80000 passengers are using Dubai Metro daily.  Dubai metro is planning to open more stations during the next few months and this number is going to increase with the opening of these stations. Dubai Metro is also planning to make Green line operational by 2011.

The best part that Bally Chohan found with Dubai Metro is that they are always ready with backup plan. If in case the trains are delayed for a longer period of time the RTA provides commuters with the bus service so that they can reach at their destination on time.

Bally Chohan has come to know that RTA gives highest of priority to the safety of passengers.
